About this role

Role overview An Expert Observability Engineer is needed to architect and govern a unified observability practice across metrics, logs, traces, and events in a large-scale enterprise environment. The role blends site reliability engineering, platform engineering, and technical leadership, with responsibility for setting enterprise standards and leading First-of-a-Kind rollouts. The position is remote in Brazil under CLT hiring and partners with global 24x7 teams.

Responsibilities - Architect a unified observability framework using IBM Instana, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Telegraf, and InfluxDB, including standards for telemetry pipelines, retention, cardinality, and cost - Define and govern SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, and serve as senior technical escalation during P1/P2 incidents - Drive Observability-as-Code and infrastructure automation with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and GitOps - Design deep observability for Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and multi-cloud environments on Azure, AWS, and GCP - Integrate observability platforms with ITSM (ServiceNow), Netcool, and CI/CD pipelines - Lead complex knowledge transfer programs, vendor transitions, and operational readiness handovers while mentoring cross-functional engineering teams

Requirements - 12+ years of total IT experience, including 5–7 years as a Lead Architect, SRE, or Principal Observability Engineer in a large enterprise - Deep experience with IBM Instana, Grafana (Enterprise and Alloy), Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Telegraf, and InfluxDB - Background with legacy monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Netcool, Elastic, or Splunk - Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, and multi-cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) - Proficiency with Linux (RHEL), Windows Server, VMware, and Citrix VDI - Automation skills with Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash, webhooks, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Jenkins) - Familiarity with ServiceNow, ITIL 4, and major incident management

Nice to have - CKA, Cloud Architect (AWS/Azure), or APM/observability vendor certifications - Experience building scalable, secure telemetry pipelines and time-series databases
