Head of Platform Engineering, Enterprise AI

Role overview Set the technical direction for an enterprise AI platform and lead the team that builds and operates it. Responsibilities - Define architecture and operating standards for a model-agnostic, multi-tenant platform that can scale to enterprise use. - Hire, develop, and lead platform engineers, establishing clear ownership across engineering, architecture, evaluation, and delivery. - Build capabilities for secure, observable deployments, including environments controlled by customers. - Partner with architecture and delivery leaders to turn customer needs into platform priorities and workable technical interfaces. - Guide the transition from internal platform capabilities to a reliable product that can be deployed or licensed externally. - Set expectations for performance, security, evaluation, operational readiness, and measurable customer outcomes.

Requirements - Typically 15 or more years in software engineering, including at least five years leading platform or infrastructure teams that have shipped multi-tenant enterprise software. - Recent hands-on engineering experience, including production code written within the past two years. - Experience designing and operating platforms for enterprise customers, including self-hosted or customer-controlled deployments. - Direct knowledge of LLM orchestration, evaluation, serving, or fine-tuning, and the ability to contribute to production systems. - A record of turning internal platform capabilities into externally deployable or licensed products. - Deep knowledge of enterprise security, identity, and hosting, including work with regulated customers; proven ability to hire and lead strong teams.

Nice to have - Experience scaling platforms in a services or customer-facing engineering organization. - Background supporting financial services or other regulated industries, and complex enterprise AI deployments.
