Role overview
Support customers remotely with questions and problems related to insurance and healthcare services. The work centers on answering incoming communications, researching information, and communicating accurate resolutions with empathy and professionalism. You’ll help create a dependable customer experience while maintaining strict privacy for sensitive patient information and reporting to a team leader.
Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming customer communications through the designated support channels. - Investigate customer questions by locating and reviewing relevant information. - Provide clear answers and practical next steps to help resolve issues. - Communicate with patience and compassion, especially when customers need assistance with healthcare or insurance matters. - Follow privacy procedures when working with protected healthcare information. - Take part in virtual training, coaching, and continuing development activities.
Requirements
- At least six months of customer service experience. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Basic computer experience and the ability to work effectively in remote support systems. - Commitment to following HIPAA guidelines and safeguarding patient privacy. - Reliable high-speed internet with download speeds above 15 Mbps. - A compatible headset for remote support; a USB-wired headset is recommended, and Bluetooth headsets may not be permitted.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote position based in the United States, subject to state-specific hiring availability. The listing excludes Alaska, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Montana, and applicants outside the United States; candidates in certain other states and Washington, D.C. may be considered only when business needs allow. - Base pay listed at $16–$17 per hour, with possible performance bonuses. - Depending on eligibility and position, benefits may include paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and health and wellness incentives. - Training is delivered online through instructor-led sessions using webcam and audio.
