Lead HRIS Technology Consultant, Workday (Remote)

Role overview This is a senior, remote consulting role responsible for the ongoing development, configuration, and support of a cloud-based Human Resource Information System across a large enterprise. The position balances day-to-day operational execution with strategic roadmap work, partnering with HR subject matter experts, business units, senior leaders, and IT to keep the platform aligned with evolving business needs. It also acts as the HRIS subject matter expert and implementer for enterprise-wide initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and other cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities - Provide end-user support and analysis, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and migration of changes from sandbox to production across multiple HRIS functional areas. - Work with SMEs, senior leaders, and business unit experts to develop, improve, and configure business processes, security settings, basic and advanced reports, and final configurations. - Review and test vendor software updates, evaluate new features, and provide expert guidance on what changes mean for the business. - Drive system optimization and enhancement initiatives by identifying automation opportunities, improving user experience, and developing strategic roadmaps aligned with HR and business objectives. - Provide governance and oversight of the HRIS, including data and data security, and ensure alignment between process and technology. - Mentor less experienced team members and create job aids to help end users navigate self-service features.

Requirements - Degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. - 7+ years of experience as an HRIS consultant; Workday experience preferred. - Proficiency in seven or more HRIS functional areas such as HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Performance, Recruiting, Payroll, Security, Integrations, and Reporting. - Strong consulting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex systems topics clearly to varied audiences. - Familiarity with cloud-based software concepts and business process modeling. - Experience with agile project management and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, including advanced Excel.

Nice to have - Experience acting as a lead implementer on enterprise-wide or cross-functional projects, including M&A and other confidential initiatives. - Background partnering with IT on configuration, data changes, and downstream system impacts.
