Senior Site Reliability Operations Engineer - Finance

Role overview A financial services organization is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Operations Engineer to safeguard 24/7 stability for its internal IT infrastructure and mission-critical backend systems. The position is operations-led rather than DevOps-led, combining incident command, hands-on troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication in a regulated, high-stakes environment. Remote work is supported across Latin America with full flexibility in how the day is structured.

Responsibilities - Lead incident response as Incident Commander, coordinating teams, communications, and service restoration - Produce executive-level incident reports, run root cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement - Improve observability using AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, and similar tools, reducing alert noise - Provide hands-on support across Linux and Windows environments for complex infrastructure issues - Manage and execute deployments through Jenkins, GitLab, or comparable CI/CD platforms - Own infrastructure initiatives such as migrations, upgrades, and process improvements - Enforce change management and risk assessment for production changes - Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures while liaising with engineering teams and external vendors - Participate in a one-week on-call rotation with potential critical incident call-ins between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM PT

Requirements - At least 5 years of experience in mixed Windows and Linux environments with strong troubleshooting capability - Practical knowledge of monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, Nagios, or SumoLogic - Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab) and backup tooling (CommVault, AWS Backup) - Scripting fluency in PowerShell, Python, or equivalent - Clear written and verbal communication, including executive reporting under pressure - Background in fast-paced environments with on-call support models - Self-directed, proactive approach to managing complex tasks independently
