Founding Product FullStack Engineer – AI Fintech (Remote - US Based)

Role overview A venture-backed, early-stage B2B SaaS startup is modernizing bookkeeping, payroll, and reporting for growing companies through an AI-native financial system. As a Founding Product Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of critical customer problems, working directly with founders, operators, and finance teams to design user experiences and architect technical solutions across the full stack. This is a remote, US-based role suited for an autonomous, product-minded builder who thrives in ambiguous, early-stage environments.

Responsibilities - Talk directly with founders, operators, and finance teams to identify and define the right product solutions - Design and build full-stack solutions across frontend, backend, AI, data, and external integrations - Develop AI finance agents that automate workflows for invoicing, collections, payroll, reporting, and month-end close - Architect reliable infrastructure covering permissions, audit trails, exact financial reconciliation, observability, and AI evaluation - Build integrations with banking, accounting, payroll, payment, and communication platforms - Translate complex financial data into intuitive user interfaces that surface clear insights for business owners - Ship work to production rapidly, observe customer usage, and iterate based on real-world feedback - Help establish the company's foundational engineering culture, architecture decisions, and product standards

Requirements - 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping real products to production - Proven full-stack capability with React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL - Strong product sense with the ability to move between strategic product thinking and rigorous technical implementation - Curiosity and discipline to learn rules-heavy domains such as financial systems and accounting - Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating directly with founders and early customers

Nice to have - Experience building AI agents, production LLM applications, or working with Model Context Protocol (MCP) - Background in fintech, accounting, payments, banking, or financial data pipelines - Previous experience owning a product area at an early-stage startup - Experience designing APIs, distributed workflows, and systems where security, auditability, and absolute correctness matter
