Principal TA Systems Architect
Job details
About this role
Role overview Principal TA Systems Architect serving as the technical owner of a Talent Acquisition technology stack, including Greenhouse, GoodTime, and BrightHire. The role covers configuration, integrations, security, vendor management, and roadmap ownership, partnering with TA Operations, People Systems, People Analytics, IT, Security, Legal, and Procurement. It is an individual contributor position today with a clear path to building and leading a small team as the function scales.
Responsibilities - Serve as system owner and top-tier administrator for Greenhouse, GoodTime, and BrightHire, managing configuration, permissions, workflows, approval chains, compliance settings, and release management. - Own the integration layer between TA systems and the broader People stack, including HRIS, background check, assessments, sourcing, and offer tooling, with API-based integrations and middleware. - Triage, root-cause, and resolve system issues end-to-end, closing the loop with reporters. - Maintain change management discipline through sandbox testing, documented configuration decisions, release notes, and user communications. - Build and own a multi-quarter TA systems roadmap, evaluating new tooling including AI-enabled recruiting tools with real rigor (pilots, success criteria, security review). - Manage vendor relationships, including renewals, escalations, customer advisory boards, and accountability to roadmap commitments. - Write scripts, queries, and automations that eliminate manual work, and maintain TA reporting and dashboards. - Document architecture, integrations, configuration decisions, and runbooks so institutional knowledge does not live in a single person's head.
Requirements - 5+ years in HR or TA systems, People Systems, or a closely adjacent systems role, including hands-on ownership of an ATS at scale, with Greenhouse experience strongly preferred. - Proven ability to gather business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver through project management, UAT, release management, and production support. - Deep, current administrative expertise in at least one core recruiting platform, with a demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on new ones. - Real technical fluency with REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON, plus experience with iPaaS or middleware tooling such as Workato, Tray, Merge, or Zapier. - Experience with vendor management, including renewals, escalations, and holding partners to commitments. - Strong partnership skills with non-technical stakeholders, paired with practical knowledge of recruiting data compliance (EEOC, OFCCP, GDPR/CCPA, data retention, interview recording consent).
Nice to have - Direct administrative experience with GoodTime and BrightHire. - Experience standing up, migrating, or consolidating an ATS. - Prior people management or experience mentoring and leading a systems function. - Experience evaluating and deploying AI tooling inside a live recruiting workflow. - Familiarity with high-volume and field-based hiring models.
Benefits and work setup - Hybrid work model that fosters in-person collaboration while valuing individual needs, with location-based in-office expectations. - Total rewards include base salary, cash compensation (overtime, bonus, or commissions where eligible), and equity. - Indicative US base salary ranges by geographic pay zone: Zone A $128,000–$205,000, Zone B $111,000–$178,000, Zone C $100,000–$160,000, with starting pay determined by skills, experience, and location.
