Security Engineer (Product)

Role overview

An early team-member role on the product and application security team of a mental healthcare platform serving tens of thousands of providers and over a million patients. The position partners closely with product and engineering to embed security into design and development while pioneering AI-native, agentic security tooling across a rapidly growing codebase.

Responsibilities

- Partner with product and engineering during design and implementation to roll out new features securely, including code contributions, security reviews, and design-stage input - Build agentic, AI-driven security workflows that move beyond rules-based automation to address code-level issues at scale - Develop application guardrails so engineers can build securely by default and foster a secure development culture - Audit and surface vulnerabilities across existing products and assist with incident response - Support security operations including vulnerability management, penetration testing, and ongoing reviews

Requirements

- 2+ years of experience in security or software engineering roles with a security focus or generalist responsibilities - Strong technical depth in building secure platforms and products, including design review and code review experience - Proven cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to partner with non-security teams - Enthusiasm for AI's potential to fundamentally reshape product security - Comfort solving ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment with an optimistic attitude - Drive to lead the industry in adopting new security and privacy practices
