About this role
Role overview A remote US-based product design role focused on payroll and team management experiences. The position centers on crafting intuitive, high-craft UI/UX work that simplifies complex payroll workflows for both business managers and employees. The designer partners closely with product managers and engineers to shape next-generation product experiences.
Responsibilities - Design end-to-end experiences for onboarding businesses and employees into payroll systems - Build proactive flows that surface payroll issues and help customers resolve them before processing - Craft interfaces for reviewing shifts, time entries, and labor costs prior to payroll runs - Translate payroll reports, taxes, deductions, and payments into clear, understandable UI - Support accurate payroll processing while reinforcing compliance and trust - Collaborate daily with designers, product managers, and engineers to align vision, strategy, and execution
Requirements - 1-2 years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong execution and UI craft - Solid grasp of UX principles and platform patterns for web and native mobile - Proficiency in Figma, including clean file hygiene and pixel-perfect handoff (to developers or AI prototyping tools) - Practical experience using AI tools in the design process, with judgment to separate useful applications from hype - Strong communication skills, comfort sharing work early, and willingness to engage directly with customers - Familiarity with design systems and the judgment to extend or push beyond them when needed
Nice to have - Hands-on design system creation or maintenance experience - Fast prototyping skills with tools like Figma Make, V0, Magic Patterns, or similar - Prior startup or zero-to-one project experience
Benefits and work setup Fully remote within the United States with a hybrid option in Boston. Compensation follows a geographic pay-zone structure with multiple salary bands tied to location.
