Senior Security Operations Engineer

Role overview

A senior security engineer is needed to help mature and scale a cloud-focused security program at a workflow automation company. The role partners closely with engineering, infrastructure, and security peers to drive protective projects, harden environments, and respond to incidents, with a heavy emphasis on automation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

- Lead security initiatives that protect customers, brand reputation, and employees while enabling core business functions - Conduct reviews of infrastructure and product features, and update policies and procedures to maintain high security standards - Scale detection and response capabilities across cloud and corporate environments, including proactive threat hunting - Track and drive vulnerability remediation across production and corporate systems, partnering with cross-functional teams for timely resolution - Serve as an escalation point for automated detections and act as incident commander during scheduled on-call rotations - Deploy and test security controls across cloud environments and corporate endpoints, automating the work wherever possible

Requirements

- 6–8+ years of experience in security roles managing complex cloud environments - Deep familiarity with cloud security in AWS or Azure, including services such as CloudTrail, GuardDuty, CloudWatch, Security Hub, Inspector, and Config - Experience securing container technologies such as Docker, AWS ECS, and Kubernetes - Background implementing and monitoring controls against frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO, CMMC, and FedRAMP - Proficiency automating security tasks using SOAR platforms and/or languages such as Python or Go - Strong command-line, log analysis, and OS hardening knowledge across Linux and macOS, plus prior on-call rotation experience in a fast-paced setting - U.S. citizenship is required, and all work must be performed from within the United States due to associated government customer requirements
