Senior Consultant: Site Reliability Engineer

Role overview Improve the reliability, resilience, and performance of client production systems as a site reliability engineering consultant. You will combine automation, observability, incident response, and architecture improvements to help teams meet service objectives and reduce operational toil. The work is collaborative and may involve a rotating, around-the-clock support schedule.

Responsibilities - Design reliability mechanisms that improve fault tolerance and reduce time to detect and respond to incidents. - Integrate observability and automation into continuous integration and delivery workflows. - Respond to production incidents, coordinate communications with clients, and prepare root-cause analyses. - Monitor production performance and improve system capacity to meet service-level objectives and business needs. - Advise application teams on reliability improvements and help implement changes across logging, metrics, alerting, and operational processes. - Establish regular chaos engineering practices to test system resilience where appropriate.

Requirements - Hands-on programming or scripting experience with Python, Go, or Bash. - Working knowledge of at least one public cloud platform. - Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, ELK, or Dynatrace, and using telemetry to diagnose infrastructure and system issues. - Familiarity with DevOps or GitOps, containers, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or equivalent. - Understanding of modern architectures and patterns, including microservices, serverless, NoSQL, and REST APIs; able to analyze logs, fix defects, and build dashboards. - Strong English communication, client collaboration, and problem-solving skills; able to stay composed during incidents and support recommendations with technical reasoning. - Able to translate technical and business needs into implementation plans, take ownership, and participate in a need-based 24/7 rotation.
