Remote job
Senior Infrastructure Solutions Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview Help engineering teams adopt and operate shared infrastructure by taking on practical engagements that unblock teams, guide migrations, and address recurring platform problems. The work combines production operations, software development, technical enablement, and collaboration: you diagnose the underlying need, implement a solution, and create reusable tools or guidance so other teams can benefit. This is a full-time remote role based in Germany, the Netherlands, or Slovenia; employees near an office are expected to work there three days per week.
Responsibilities - Partner directly with engineering teams to understand infrastructure challenges and deliver fixes from diagnosis through implementation. - Lead migrations away from deprecated systems, providing reference implementations, tools, and adoption guidance. - Help new teams onboard to shared infrastructure and consolidate one-off approaches into supported standard paths. - Build reusable libraries, Terraform modules, and Helm charts for recurring engineering needs. - Improve observability of infrastructure usage, costs, and adoption through instrumentation and attribution tools. - Turn team feedback and recurring obstacles into recommendations for platform strategy and roadmap priorities.
Requirements - At least six years in platform engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering, including leadership of a cross-team project or migration. - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. - Experience in technical enablement, developer experience, or solutions architecture focused on internal productivity. - Hands-on experience operating production infrastructure and deep knowledge of Kubernetes operations and workload optimization. - Working knowledge of a public cloud provider, including compute, storage, quotas, and capacity. - Experience with infrastructure as code and delivery tools such as Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, and CI/CD pipelines. - Proficiency in Go or Python, with strong communication skills and the ability to turn ambiguous needs into actionable engineering work.
Nice to have - Fleet-scale block storage experience, such as Persistent Disk, Hyperdisk, Ceph, or SAN. - Experience leading large migrations or deprecations that required alignment across teams outside your reporting line.
