Job details
About this role
Role overview Help coordinate work on the core software behind a peer-to-peer communications app. You’ll keep plans, dependencies, and releases clear across engineers working on peer connections, data replication, room syncing, calls, and file transfers. This is an early-career opportunity to build experience in technical project management within a distributed, open-source environment.
Responsibilities - Track sprint work, milestones, release plans, and issues so priorities stay current. - Support planning sessions, stand-ups, and retrospectives across time zones, often asynchronously. - Coordinate dependencies among engine engineers, app and interface developers, and QA. - Prepare concise progress updates, release notes, and meeting summaries. - Triage bug reports and user feedback, routing issues to the appropriate engineers. - Identify blockers early and maintain clear internal documentation and processes.
Requirements - Around 1–2 years in project coordination, project management, or related work; internships and open-source contributions count. - Strong written English, including the ability to explain technical progress clearly. - Good organization, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through. - Comfort working with engineers and learning unfamiliar technical concepts. - Experience with issue tracking or project tools such as GitHub Projects, Jira, or Linear. - Self-direction and comfort working remotely in an asynchronous team.
Nice to have - Basic familiarity with peer-to-peer networking or distributed systems, such as peer discovery, NAT traversal, or replication. - Exposure to software development lifecycles, Git, release coordination, or JavaScript and Node.js. - Agile or Scrum knowledge, a related certification, or experience collaborating across time zones. - Interest in privacy, decentralization, or open-source software.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote work with a globally distributed team.
