Backend Engineer - Wallets

Role overview This role focuses on building the backend that powers a digital-asset wallet platform used by exchanges, payment processors, and other fintech participants. The work centers on crafting resilient, scalable services that move tokens across blockchains quickly, securely, and at low cost while protecting user funds and data.

Responsibilities - Design and ship backend services that handle real-time, high-volume transaction flows and stay responsive as the user base grows - Apply rigorous security practices across services, including authentication, authorization, and protection of assets and personal data - Build features in agile sprints, contributing new ideas for how wallets and token movement can be improved - Develop and maintain microservices that compose the wallet platform - Integrate with relational and document databases to model balances, transactions, and user records - Work on peer-to-peer networking components that let clients communicate directly without centralized servers

Requirements - Strong proficiency in Node.js and modern JavaScript for production backend work - Hands-on experience building complex platforms rather than small standalone services - Familiarity with microservices architecture patterns for scalable systems - Understanding of peer-to-peer networking concepts and how they differ from client-server designs - Proficiency working with MySQL and MongoDB, including schema design and query optimization - Demonstrated focus on security best practices throughout the development lifecycle
