Senior Director, Engineering - Account Identity & Access

Role overview A senior engineering leadership role owning the strategy, vision, and execution of a large-scale identity and access management ecosystem that powers secure registration, authentication, account management, and care access for millions of users. The position leads multiple engineering teams and partners closely with Product, Security, Compliance, Privacy, Architecture, and Analytics to deliver secure, frictionless, and highly available experiences. The leader will modernize authentication and authorization capabilities while strengthening platform reliability, governance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities - Lead multiple engineering teams responsible for identity, authentication, authorization, account management, and access services across global delivery models. - Define and execute the long-term technology vision for identity and access management platforms, including modernization of authentication and authorization capabilities. - Deliver secure, seamless, and scalable registration, login, account recovery, and user profile experiences backed by highly available, resilient systems. - Partner with Product, Security, Compliance, Privacy, and Enterprise Architecture to align business, security, and regulatory objectives, including fraud prevention and account protection. - Establish engineering standards for identity governance, access controls, and operational practices, with strong oversight of platform reliability, incident management, risk mitigation, and roadmap execution. - Mentor and develop senior managers and engineering leaders, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. - 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including management of large engineering organizations and demonstrated success leading teams of 30+ engineers. - Deep experience with Identity and Access Management, Customer Identity and Access Management, authentication, or authorization platforms. - Strong understanding of modern security architectures, identity technologies, and designing highly available consumer-facing platforms. - Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to translate business and security requirements into technical solutions.
Nice to have - Experience in healthcare, banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries. - Hands-on familiarity with SSO, MFA, OAuth, OpenID Connect, identity federation, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures. - Background in fraud prevention, account security, and identity governance at consumer scale.
Benefits and work setup - Base salary range of $200,000 to $220,000, plus performance bonus and RSUs, with additional benefits eligibility. Up to 5% travel expected.
