Senior Engineering Manager

Role overview Lead the team responsible for a company-wide data platform, from source ingestion and warehouse administration through orchestration and outbound integrations. You’ll set technical direction, ensure dependable data services, and work with analytics engineering and business partners to deliver useful capabilities as the team grows.

Responsibilities - Manage, coach, and develop engineers responsible for data platform services. - Set strategy and guide delivery across a cloud data warehouse, transformation models, Python services, and workflow orchestration. - Administer warehouse permissions, compute configuration, costs, and release practices. - Own production reliability, including monitoring, on-call readiness, incident response, and postmortems. - Partner with product, business, analytics, and engineering teams to turn stakeholder needs into technical plans. - Establish standards for code review, testing, documentation, and CI/CD, while setting priorities and supporting timely delivery.

Requirements - At least 6 years of data engineering experience and 2 years of engineering management experience. - Hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse, data transformation tooling, Python, and SQL. - Experience administering a production warehouse, including access controls, cost management, and environment or release processes. - Comfort operating cloud production services, including containerized workloads and serverless functions; experience with a major cloud platform is preferred. - Experience owning production data systems, orchestration, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and automated pipeline testing. - Strong communication with technical and nontechnical partners, a record of delivering complex projects, and the ability to balance business needs with engineering quality.

Nice to have - Work with data in a regulated healthcare environment, third-party integrations, or APIs. - Knowledge of dimensional modeling, warehouse design tradeoffs, or consolidating workflows onto one orchestration platform. - Experience with managed ELT tools or infrastructure-as-code.
