Multigres Deployment Engineer

Role overview

Own the deployment and operational infrastructure for a distributed Postgres platform that runs on Kubernetes. The work centers on building and maintaining a Go-based operator, hardening cloud deployment patterns, and ensuring storage and networking layers stay reliable at production scale.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and evolve the Go-based Kubernetes operator that orchestrates distributed Postgres deployments - Architect cloud deployment infrastructure, designing robust patterns for managed Kubernetes services and multi-cluster rollouts - Manage storage and networking layers, including CSI drivers, persistent volumes, and cross-cloud connectivity - Develop internal tooling and automation for provisioning, scaling, and managing Postgres clusters - Build monitoring, alerting, and diagnostic capabilities directly into the deployment layer - Collaborate with database engineers, SRE, and product teams to deliver a seamless deployment experience

Requirements

- Strong proficiency in Go, with hands-on experience building production-grade Kubernetes operators or controllers - Deep Kubernetes expertise, including internals, custom resources, and managed services such as EKS, GKE, or AKS - Working knowledge of database deployment patterns, backup and restore, replication, and high-availability design - Familiarity with distributed systems concepts, including consensus protocols and failure scenarios - Experience with cloud-native deployment tooling, infrastructure as code, and cloud provider APIs - Production operations mindset with a track record of building observable, maintainable systems

Nice to have

- Experience with CSI storage drivers and storage orchestration in Kubernetes - Knowledge of cross-cloud networking tools like Cilium, Istio, or comparable service mesh technologies - Prior work with sharded query serving systems - Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects
