iOS Engineer - Sponsorships

Role overview This position focuses on developing native iOS experiences that introduce paid sponsorships alongside a direct-subscription publishing model. The work centers on a small, product-minded team building features that let brands collaborate with independent creators without compromising user trust or the reading experience. The engineer will serve as the iOS lead, shaping technical direction through code review, mentorship, and thoughtful architecture.

Responsibilities - Build and refine sponsorship experiences within the core iOS application for creators and their audiences - Participate in high-level product brainstorming and contribute ideas for new sponsorship offerings - Iterate on key user flows across mobile and web, including designing and running A/B tests - Partner with design, writing, support, and product teammates to take work from concept through experimentation and measurement - Engage directly with users to solve problems and build empathy-driven product decisions - Collaborate closely with sponsorship partners to gather ideas and ship solutions that work for both brands and creators

Requirements - Three or more years of professional software engineering experience - Track record of shipping high-quality native iOS applications to the App Store, ideally with both SwiftUI and UIKit - Self-directed and comfortable owning work end-to-end without close management - High bar for quality on production systems and willingness to hold teammates to that standard - Care for crafting elegant, delightful product experiences that stay out of the user's way - Collaborative mindset and a personal investment in the mission of building a better business model for independent writing
