Role overview
This product designer shapes software for warehouse, transportation, and supply chain operations. The role turns complex, high-volume workflows into clear experiences that help operators work quickly and accurately across warehouse management, transportation management, and related tools.
Responsibilities
- Own design for workflows such as receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory management. - Design for varied work settings and devices, including handheld scanners, desktop stations, and tablets used around warehouse equipment. - Conduct field research and usability testing with operators, drivers, and supply chain coordinators; use their feedback to refine designs. - Create prototypes and iterate quickly, using AI-enabled design tools where useful to explore and validate ideas. - Explain design rationale in terms of user needs and operational outcomes, helping engineering teams understand the value of proposed changes. - Partner with product and engineering, contribute to shared design patterns, and define measures of usability and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience, including at least 2 years designing complex B2B or operational software. - Experience with multi-step workflows, exception handling, and data-heavy interfaces. - Ability to conduct user research and usability testing, then turn findings into practical design decisions. - Advanced Figma skills, including prototyping and component libraries. - Strong storytelling and collaboration skills, with the ability to work through technical constraints and deliver polished engineering-ready designs. - A resourceful, user-focused approach and the ability to iterate at a fast pace.
Nice to have
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, warehouse management, field service, or other operational software. - Familiarity with specialized devices such as mobile scanners or tablets, and research in warehouses or distribution centers. - Experience in a fast-moving startup or scale-up environment, plus a portfolio showing how you simplify complex workflows.
