Data Operations Lead

Role overview Lead and scale the Data Operations organization behind an autonomous trucking system as Data Operations Lead. This role oversees multiple data-centric verticals, including mapping, labeling, and triage, directing both internal metrics-driven teams and external vendors that deliver high-fidelity maps, annotated sensor data, and accurate triage analysis. It is a highly collaborative leadership role, partnering closely with Product, Autonomy, and Systems Engineering to keep data flowing into model development and validation pipelines.

Responsibilities - Direct the Data Operations organization across mapping, labeling, triage, and additional data verticals as the company grows. - Partner with stakeholders to define, standardize, and continuously refine data ontologies, operator policies, and data specifications. - Establish workflows and policies that deliver a high volume of quality data, including labels, maps, and triage annotations, on a continuous basis. - Manage strategic vendor and partner relationships responsible for ground truth labeling, map generation, and operational tasks, including contract negotiation, budget management, training, and policy adherence. - Partner with internal tooling and infrastructure teams to define requirements for next-generation tooling and automation that reduces manual operational overhead. - Use data analytics to identify continuous improvement opportunities in operational workflows, throughput, and quality control.

Requirements - Ten or more years of operations management or related experience leading data-centric organizations. - Significant leadership experience directing multi-disciplinary teams responsible for data annotation, mapping operations, triage, or related functions. - Demonstrated expertise managing globally distributed workforce vendors and establishing robust BPO strategies. - Proven ability to architect, implement, and scale complex, heavily data-driven operational workflows. - Strong data analysis acumen, including experience conceptualizing, building, and reporting on organizational-level business metrics. - Deep functional understanding of ML training for perception models, HD mapping concepts, data infrastructure, and visualization tooling.

Nice to have - Prior experience working at an autonomous vehicle or robotics company. - The role may be subject to U.S. national security and export control requirements, which could affect eligibility based on residency, U.S. person status, or citizenship.
