Role overview Senior DevOps Engineer opening on a Kubernetes-focused infrastructure team supporting a high-traffic advertising platform. The role centers on owning AWS infrastructure, hardening platform reliability, and enabling engineering teams through infrastructure-as-code and observability practices.
Responsibilities - Build, maintain, and improve shared infrastructure and platform services used across engineering. - Own and optimize AWS services that underpin production workloads. - Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code workflows, primarily with Terraform and Terrateam. - Support reliable, secure deployments spanning cloud environments and Kubernetes clusters. - Strengthen observability through metrics, logs, and tracing. - Diagnose and resolve infrastructure and service issues within distributed systems. - Define infrastructure standards, documentation, and operational practices that scale with the platform. - Partner with engineering teams on resilient, scalable system design.
Requirements - Five or more years of experience in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering. - Strong track record operating AWS infrastructure in production. - Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows at scale. - Significant Kubernetes experience, including owning internal deployment pipelines and node management. - Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. - Experience supporting incident handling and production operations.
Nice to have - Exposure to Terrateam, Ansible, Vault, Consul, ArgoCD, Packer, Redis, and GitHub Actions. - Familiarity with AWS networking concepts like VPCs, routing, load balancers, and security groups. - Background working with large-scale distributed systems and infrastructure automation.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first position open to candidates based in Canada. - Base salary band of $140,000–$192,500 CAD, with potential eligibility for additional compensation such as bonuses, commissions, equity awards, and a benefits package including health coverage from day one, retirement or pension savings, paid time off with a birthday off, mental health support, and work-from-home reimbursements.
