Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Role overview This Senior Infrastructure Engineer delivers reliable infrastructure and network support across multiple customer environments within a managed services context. The role combines hands-on technical work with escalation handling, project delivery, and disciplined operational documentation.

Responsibilities - Provide remote support for servers, storage, network, and cloud infrastructure across multiple environments - Administer and maintain Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, and cloud platforms to ensure performance, availability, and security - Diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues through structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis - Monitor system health, manage incidents and service requests, and consistently meet SLA targets - Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery solutions - Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver infrastructure improvements, system upgrades, and technical solutions - Serve as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives - Participate in on-call support rotations and ensure timely resolution of critical incidents

Requirements - 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and supporting enterprise server infrastructure, preferably within an MSP environment - Strong expertise in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra ID), Group Policy, Microsoft 365, NPS, and WSUS - Proven experience with VMware, Hyper-V, SAN storage, Veeam backup, and disaster recovery solutions - Hands-on knowledge of data centre operations including server deployments, hardware upgrades, migrations, and break-fix support - Good understanding of networking fundamentals including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs - Experience supporting Cisco and Fortinet environments, including firewall and VPN administration - Proficient in PowerShell and Bash scripting for automation and operational efficiency
