About this role

Role overview A remote-first opportunity within Canada to join a platform engineering group responsible for the infrastructure, observability, and automation that supports a high-volume engineering environment. The role centers on owning AWS infrastructure and the Kubernetes platform, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure as code, operational reliability, and scalable practices across distributed systems.

Responsibilities - Build, maintain, and evolve shared infrastructure and platform services used across engineering. - Own and optimize AWS services that underpin production systems. - Develop and manage infrastructure as code workflows, primarily with Terraform and Terrateam. - Support reliable, secure deployments across cloud and Kubernetes environments. - Improve observability through metrics, logs, and tracing, and use those signals to troubleshoot issues. - Establish infrastructure standards, documentation, and operational practices, partnering with engineering teams on resilient, scalable system design.

Requirements - 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering. - Strong production experience operating AWS infrastructure. - Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows at scale. - Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms. - Familiarity with observability tooling, for example Prometheus and Grafana. - Background supporting reliability, incident response, and production operations.

Nice to have - Familiarity with Terraform, Terrateam, Ansible, Vault, Consul, ArgoCD, Packer, Redis, and GitHub Actions. - Understanding of AWS networking concepts such as VPCs, routing, load balancers, and security groups. - Experience with large-scale distributed systems and infrastructure automation. - Comfort safely leveraging AI to increase development efficiency.

Benefits and work setup - Remote-first role open to candidates located in Canada. - Competitive compensation with a base salary band of $116,000–$159,500 CAD for candidates in the posting country; ranges vary by location and additional compensation such as bonuses or equity may be available depending on the role and jurisdiction. - Comprehensive benefits from day one, including mental health coverage and retirement or pension savings where applicable. - Generous paid time off, work-from-home reimbursements, optional global WeWork membership, and access to hubs in major cities. - Robust onboarding and training, support for personal development, parental leave program, and team events.
