Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead the machine learning lifecycle for a data platform that processes network telemetry and business information. You will turn stakeholder problems into models, then take those models through evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining in production. The work includes forecasting, anomaly detection, and predictive insights, alongside setting engineering standards and mentoring other practitioners.
Responsibilities - Develop and deploy forecasting, anomaly detection, and classification models using telemetry and business data. - Build feature and training-data pipelines for streaming and batch sources on a lakehouse platform. - Own production MLOps practices, including experiment tracking, model versioning, CI/CD, retraining, and monitoring for drift or performance decline. - Establish standards for model development, evaluation, documentation, and governance. - Translate business needs into well-defined ML problems and explain model behavior, limitations, and impact to stakeholders. - Work with data engineers to deliver reliable, observable ML services in the cloud; mentor engineers and contribute to team planning.
Requirements - At least five years in machine learning, data science, or ML engineering, including operating models in production. - Strong Python skills and familiarity with tools such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and pandas. - Strong SQL and experience with large analytical datasets. - Practical experience with time-series forecasting or anomaly detection at scale. - Knowledge of statistics, experiment design, and model evaluation. - Experience deploying ML workloads on AWS, containerizing applications with Docker, and using MLOps practices and tooling. - Clear communication skills, including explaining technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have Experience with Kafka, Confluent, or Flink; lakehouse technologies such as Iceberg or Parquet; time-series databases; generative AI evaluation; telecommunications, networking, satellite, or IoT data; infrastructure as code; and mentoring engineers.
