About this role
Role overview
Build agentic software that turns fragmented sustainability information into clearer decisions and practical action. You will help create a platform that brings together environmental and organisational data, reasons across uncertain inputs, explores possible outcomes, and improves its recommendations through feedback. The role combines full-stack engineering, AI system design, and close engagement with customers and real-world problems.
Responsibilities
- Build systems to ingest and organise unstructured sustainability data. - Develop agents that reason across complex, uncertain information. - Implement simulations and scenario analysis to help users explore potential actions and impacts. - Support multi-step workflows for decision-making and recommendations. - Improve system behaviour through feedback, memory, and an evolving knowledge and context graph. - Contribute to platform architecture and work directly with customers as the product develops.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and at least seven years building full-stack applications. - Experience with modern web development, ideally React, Next.js, and TypeScript. - Backend development experience with Python. - Comfort working with messy, real-world data. - Ability to design, explain, and communicate complex systems clearly. - Experience using coding agents to speed up software development.
Benefits and work setup
Permanent, full-time role with a stated base salary of £85,000–£120,000 and competitive equity. Hybrid working allows up to two remote days per week. The position offers influence over early product and architecture decisions and work on climate, nature, and social risk. Visa sponsorship is unavailable.
