About this role
Role overview Support the data infrastructure powering text-to-speech products used by tens of millions of readers worldwide. The Software Engineer will handle every stage of data acquisition for model training, balancing petabyte-scale volumes with cost efficiency. The position is fully remote and blends cloud infrastructure, scripting, and close collaboration with research scientists.
Responsibilities - Identify and bring in new audio data sources, feeding them into the team's ingestion pipeline. - Operate and extend cloud infrastructure on GCP, defined and managed with Terraform. - Work alongside scientists to improve the cost, throughput, and quality trade-offs in dataset production. - Help shape the dataset roadmap with AI team leadership to enable next-generation consumer and enterprise offerings. - Keep large-scale data processing workflows reliable and efficient.
Requirements - BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline. - At least five years of industry experience in software development. - Strong skills in bash and Python scripting on Linux systems. - Working knowledge of Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code, with professional experience on at least one major cloud provider, preferably GCP. - Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving setting. - Strong written and verbal communication.
Nice to have - Experience designing web crawlers or large-scale data processing pipelines.
