Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition - Zurich, Switzerland

Role overview Take ownership of audio data collection and infrastructure for an AI team that trains text-to-speech models serving tens of millions of users. The role combines hands-on cloud and scripting work with research collaboration to deliver high-quality datasets at petabyte scale and low cost. You will join a fully distributed, remote-first engineering team, with this hire based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Responsibilities - Find and integrate new audio data sources into the ingestion pipeline - Operate and extend the ingestion cloud infrastructure running on Google Cloud Platform and managed with Terraform - Work hand-in-hand with research scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and quality across the data stack - Help define the dataset roadmap in partnership with AI leadership - Feed next-generation consumer and enterprise products with richer, larger, cheaper training data

Requirements - BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field - 5+ years of professional software development experience - Strong bash and Python scripting skills in Linux environments - Solid understanding of Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code, with professional experience at a major cloud provider - Comfort handling several tasks and shifting priorities - Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have - Familiarity with web crawlers or large-scale data processing workflows
