Role overview Join the data side of an AI team focused on text-to-speech products that help millions of users consume written content as audio. The Software Engineer will own end-to-end data acquisition for model training, operating at petabyte scale while keeping costs low. This is a fully remote engineering role that blends infrastructure, scripting, and research collaboration.
Responsibilities - Discover and onboard new audio data sources into the ingestion pipeline, applying a resourceful, hands-on mindset. - Operate and extend the cloud-based ingestion infrastructure running on GCP, managed through Terraform. - Partner with research scientists to push the cost, throughput, and quality frontier, delivering larger and richer datasets for next-generation models. - Contribute to the team's dataset roadmap alongside AI leadership to support upcoming consumer and enterprise products. - Maintain and improve large-scale data processing workflows that feed training pipelines.
Requirements - BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field. - Five or more years of professional software development experience. - Strong proficiency with bash and Python scripting in Linux environments. - Hands-on experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code patterns on at least one major cloud provider, ideally GCP. - Ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt as needs shift. - Clear written and verbal communication skills.
