Role overview A distributed team focused on AI-driven text-to-speech is hiring a Software Engineer to own the data pipeline that fuels its model training operations. The role sits at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, data acquisition, and applied research, with the goal of building high-quality training datasets at petabyte scale while keeping cost and throughput balanced. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, the position supports next-generation consumer and enterprise products.
Responsibilities - Discover and integrate new audio data sources into the ingestion pipeline using a scrappy, experimental approach. - Operate and extend cloud infrastructure that runs on GCP, managed through Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices. - Work with research scientists to push the cost, throughput, and quality frontier, enabling richer data at larger scale. - Partner with the broader AI team and leadership to shape the dataset roadmap for upcoming product generations. - Handle multiple concurrent workstreams and adapt quickly as priorities shift across ingestion and training needs.
Requirements - BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline. - 5+ years of professional software development experience. - Strong proficiency in bash and Python scripting within Linux environments. - Hands-on experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts on at least one major cloud provider (GCP experience preferred). - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
