Role overview This opening is for a software engineer on the data side of an AI team supporting a large-scale text-to-speech product used worldwide. The role owns the full data acquisition stack, from sourcing audio material to running the cloud infrastructure that feeds training pipelines at petabyte scale, and partners closely with research scientists to improve dataset quality and economics.

Responsibilities - Source new audio datasets and route them into the ingestion pipeline. - Operate, scale, and extend the GCP infrastructure (managed with Terraform) that underpins the pipeline. - Collaborate with scientists to drive down cost and lift throughput without sacrificing data quality for next-generation models. - Help plan the AI team's dataset roadmap alongside team leads, tying it to both consumer and enterprise product needs. - Balance competing demands across research velocity, pipeline stability, and product timelines.

Requirements - BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline. - 5+ years of software development experience in industry. - Solid proficiency in bash and Python on Linux systems. - Practical expertise with Docker, infrastructure-as-code, and at least one major cloud provider (GCP is the team's primary platform). - Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have - Experience building web crawlers or other high-volume data processing systems.
