Role overview
This is a fully remote software engineering role based in El Paso, TX, focused on the data backbone that fuels large-scale AI training. The engineer will own the end-to-end pipeline for collecting, ingesting, and processing massive audio datasets used to train next-generation text-to-speech models. It's a hands-on infrastructure and data engineering position that sits at the intersection of cloud systems, research, and product impact.
Responsibilities
- Hunt down new sources of audio data and integrate them into the ingestion pipeline at petabyte scale - Operate, maintain, and extend cloud infrastructure for data ingestion, leveraging infrastructure-as-code practices - Partner closely with research scientists to push the cost, throughput, and quality frontier for training datasets - Contribute to the dataset roadmap alongside AI team leadership to support consumer and enterprise products - Build tooling and workflows that make large-scale data acquisition reliable and repeatable
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field - 5+ years of industry experience in software development - Strong proficiency in bash and Python scripting on Linux systems - Hands-on experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts - Professional experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP preferred) - Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to juggle shifting priorities

- Experience building or operating web crawlers - Familiarity with large-scale data processing workflows
