About this role
Role overview A software engineering position focused on data infrastructure and acquisition for an AI team building text-to-speech products used by tens of millions of people. The role sits at the intersection of infrastructure, engineering, and research, with responsibility for petabyte-scale ingestion pipelines that feed next-generation model training in a fully distributed, asynchronous setting.
Responsibilities - Discover and onboard new audio data sources into the ingestion pipeline, working creatively to grow dataset variety and quality. - Operate and extend cloud-based ingestion infrastructure, applying Infrastructure-as-Code practices to keep systems reliable and reproducible. - Partner closely with research scientists to push the cost, throughput, and quality frontier, delivering richer data at greater scale. - Contribute to the AI team's dataset roadmap alongside engineering peers and product leadership. - Support both consumer and enterprise product needs through well-curated training data.
Requirements - BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. - Five or more years of industry experience in software development. - Proficiency in bash and Python scripting within Linux environments. - Hands-on experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code patterns. - Professional experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP familiarity preferred). - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
Nice to have - Familiarity with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows.
