About this role
Role overview This technical leadership role sits at the center of products that help developers and AI agents take action on code at scale across massive enterprise codebases. The team builds products that both use AI and serve AI workflows, requiring a hands-on understanding of where models succeed, where they fail, and how to design around their limitations. The position blends backend, AI agent, and frontend work and is suited for a generalist who can move fluidly across boundaries.
Responsibilities - Set technical and product direction for a team building cross-repository code execution products - Drive the roadmap from issue creation through shipping, keeping the team unblocked and on schedule - Lead design and implementation work across an execution layer for massive cross-repo changes, an outer-loop agent that orchestrates coding agents across thousands of repositories, and signal-based products that surface notifications and insights over code - Operate as a generalist across backend systems, AI agent orchestration, and frontend surfaces - Apply hands-on knowledge of AI model capabilities and limitations to architectural and product decisions - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to shape product direction
Requirements - Strong, opinionated, real-world experience with AI models and agents, including where they fail and how to design around those failure modes - Track record of shipping complex developer tools or infrastructure products - Ability to lead without losing depth: setting direction while remaining hands-on across the stack - Comfort working across backend, AI agent, and frontend domains - Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Nice to have - Experience with distributed systems, code analysis, or large-scale refactoring tooling - Background leading or significantly influencing engineering teams
Benefits and work setup - Globally distributed team; preference for candidates based in Europe or the U.S. Eastern time zone, though applications are welcomed from anywhere - Working hours must overlap with Central European Time (CEST) for at least 20 hours per week - Competitive base salary determined by location zone, with starting salaries around $144,000–$192,000 USD depending on zone - Meaningful equity component - Generous perks and benefits package - Interview process designed to total approximately 4.75 hours
