Software Engineer

Role overview Contribute to the modernization of public services by building and shipping software on an AI-driven platform that brings NLP and LLM techniques to federal healthcare systems. This full-stack engineering role blends hands-on coding with end-to-end ownership of CI/CD, test automation, and deployment pipelines in a government contracting context.

Responsibilities - Write effective, scalable code supporting the consolidation of systems into a unified AI-driven platform that improves data accuracy and reduces manual effort. - Own CI/CD pipelines end to end, automating build, test, and deployment with tools like Jenkins plus Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Ansible. - Build and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression test suites integrated into the pipeline as quality gates, with test-coverage analysis. - Package and deploy workloads with Docker and related tools for repeatable, scalable environments. - Investigate and debug test failures across the lifecycle, updating tests or filing bugs to keep the build green. - Integrate code-quality and security checks (such as SonarQube and Snyk) directly into the pipeline. - Work with human-centered design experts to build intuitive, responsive, personalized solutions.

Requirements - Proven experience writing production code and treating CI/CD as a first-class practice, not a buzzword, with automated build, test, and deployment workflows. - Test automation skill, including building automated tests and integrating them into pipelines with quality and security gates. - Comfort designing scalable, maintainable pipelines integrated with testing frameworks. - Containerization experience with Docker or Kubernetes and fluency working with REST APIs. - Working knowledge of at least one agile flavor such as Scrum, Lean, or SAFe. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating across a busy stakeholder mix. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Nice to have - Experience with NLP, LLMs, or machine-learning-driven applications. - Prior support of a major federal agency or similar civic-tech environment. - Experience operating inside a FISMA boundary or supporting ATO or cATO efforts.
