Technical Guidance Lead

Role overview A senior advisory role providing non-assessment cybersecurity guidance for federal programs and systems. The lead translates NIST, OMB, and other federal cybersecurity requirements into practical implementation recommendations and acts as a trusted technical authority to government and contractor stakeholders. This is a remote position tied to a contract award.

Responsibilities - Serve as senior technical authority for non-assessment cybersecurity matters, interpreting federal requirements and turning them into actionable guidance. - Advise on security requirements, control implementation, system and security architecture, engineering, cloud and emerging technologies, continuous monitoring, vulnerability and risk response, and operational security. - Review proposed technical approaches, designs, and configurations for alignment with mission needs, identifying risks and recommending resolution paths. - Plan and lead major technical guidance assignments, setting objectives, methods, staffing, and deliverables across multidisciplinary teams. - Drive resolution of complex cross-system cybersecurity issues by analyzing technical information, facilitating subject-matter collaboration, and presenting defensible recommendations. - Develop reusable guidance, standards, templates, and decision aids that promote consistent implementation of cybersecurity requirements. - Brief senior government and program leadership on cyber impacts, options, risks, and tradeoffs; coordinate with system owners, ISSOs/ISSMs, architects, engineers, and operations stakeholders.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, cyber engineering, architecture, or technical advisory roles. - Senior industry certification (CISSP or equivalent). - Demonstrated leadership of major cybersecurity or technology assignments, including setting goals and plans that meet project objectives. - Deep working knowledge of NIST controls, the Risk Management Framework, security architecture and engineering, continuous monitoring, and vulnerability and risk management. - Experience directing client-facing activities and coordinating resources to meet complex cyber requirements, including senior-level briefings and recommendations. - U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance; an active Secret clearance is preferred.
