About this role

Role overview

Lead delivery for mission-critical defense and intelligence programs involving sensor and edge hardware. You will own cost, schedule, and performance across government contracts while ensuring individual product orders are delivered on time and to specification. The role connects government program offices with a technical team of roughly 12–15 engineers and subcontractors, requiring direct accountability for outcomes rather than administrative coordination alone.

Responsibilities

- Track cost, schedule, and performance across priority contracts, identifying risks early and escalating them with actionable recommendations. - Serve as the primary customer contact for government program offices, leading reviews, status updates, deliverable coordination, and issue resolution. - Manage product orders from intake through production coordination and final shipment. - Translate program requirements into practical technical work, coordinate engineers and subcontractors, and drive delivery commitments. - Partner with contracts leadership on subcontractor performance, technical deliverables, and quality without owning invoicing or contract administration. - Support proposal and capture activities as a source of technical credibility and past-performance information. - Resolve resource conflicts across programs and maintain program records and portfolio-health updates for internal leadership.

Requirements

- Five to eight years of program or project management experience, including direct accountability for Department of Defense contracts. - Operational or mission experience, such as military service, embedded operator work, or direct exposure to field use of edge sensor or ISR equipment. - Demonstrated experience acting as the primary customer point of contact for government program offices. - Active Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one. - Experience leading cross-functional technical teams through delivery deadlines. - Working knowledge of cost and schedule tracking methods, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. - U.S. person status and authorization to support U.S. government-related work.

Nice to have

Program-management certification, experience supporting capture or proposal efforts, and familiarity with small-to-mid-sized defense contractors are helpful.

Benefits and work setup

This is a full-time remote U.S. role with travel to program and customer sites. Compensation is listed at $130,000–$165,000 annually and includes fully covered health premiums for the employee and dependents, a 4% employer retirement contribution, unlimited paid time off, annual profit sharing, and potential equity. An NDA is required before additional confidential details are shared.
