Role overview This is a new-grad Software Engineer position on the team building a fully managed cloud database service across major cloud providers. The role partners with experienced engineers to design, implement, test, and operate production-quality cloud software spanning the control plane, data plane, reliability, observability, developer tooling, and customer-facing cloud experiences.

Responsibilities - Develop services that support the full lifecycle of customer workspaces and databases. - Build automation for provisioning, scaling, upgrades, backups, and recovery workflows. - Improve service reliability, availability, observability, and operational efficiency at scale. - Design APIs and backend systems for cloud database management and customer-facing experiences. - Investigate and resolve performance, scalability, and correctness issues in distributed services. - Write production code, tests, documentation, and technical designs; collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners across release cycles.

Requirements - Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, completed or expected by the start date. - Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design. - Programming experience in Go, Java, Python, C++, or a similar language. - Understanding of distributed systems, operating systems, networking, or databases. - Familiarity with Linux or Unix-based systems. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to learn quickly and solve complex technical problems.

Nice to have - Coursework or project experience in distributed systems, cloud computing, databases, networking, or operating systems. - Experience building backend services, APIs, or automation; familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, or public cloud platforms. - Exposure to observability, monitoring, debugging, or performance analysis, plus interest in reliability engineering at scale.
