M365 / Power Platform Developer

Role overview

A hands-on developer position focused on designing, building, deploying, and supporting business applications and automation for federal government clients using the Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft 365 stack. The role sits within a multidisciplinary delivery team, reporting to a Program Manager, Project Manager, or Technical Lead, and is suited to someone who can turn business requirements into secure, maintainable, user-friendly solutions.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications built on Microsoft Power Platform, including Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps and Power Automate workflows. - Configure data solutions using Dataverse, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lists, and approved external data sources, and integrate them with Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, OneDrive, and Outlook. - Translate business requirements into practical technical designs, producing wireframes, mockups, or lightweight prototypes where helpful to validate approaches with stakeholders. - Apply UI/UX principles (navigation, layout, hierarchy, forms, validation, responsiveness, accessibility) to build intuitive interfaces and reusable components. - Support Power Platform Application Lifecycle Management, including solutions, environment variables, connection references, source control, and deployment pipelines, and assist with CI/CD using GitHub Enterprise or Azure DevOps. - Participate in Agile ceremonies, maintain tasks and estimates in Jira or a comparable tool, and proactively surface blockers, risks, and dependencies.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. - 3–5+ years building business applications, workflow automation, or enterprise technology solutions, with hands-on Power Platform development experience. - Practical experience with Power Apps (Canvas), Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, and/or Microsoft Lists, plus working knowledge of core Microsoft 365 services. - Demonstrated ability to design intuitive, user-friendly interfaces grounded in UI/UX fundamentals, including accessibility considerations. - Understanding of application design, data modeling, permissions, integrations, testing, and deployment concepts, supported by strong analytical and communication skills. - Experience delivering Microsoft 365 or Power Platform solutions for federal government customers, preferably a large federal agency.

Nice to have

- Model-Driven Power Apps, Power Pages, Dataverse-based solutions, and Power BI dashboards. - Power Platform ALM, managed solutions, CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, custom connectors, Microsoft Graph, Azure Functions, or Logic Apps. - SPFx, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, or CSS, and modernizing legacy custom applications. - Familiarity with federal Section 508 accessibility, cybersecurity, records management, privacy, and compliance requirements. - Microsoft certifications such as PL-400 or PL-200, and Agile delivery experience with Jira or Azure DevOps.
