Role overview
A cloud-native business intelligence platform is expanding its Solution Engineering team and hiring a presales engineer focused on central-region enterprise accounts. The role partners with sales, business development, product, engineering, and support to own the technical portion of the sales cycle, including discovery, demos, prototypes, and RFP responses. The mission is to make data access simple and help prospects and customers translate cloud data warehouses into real business insight.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions and workshops that surface customer business and data challenges. - Build tailored demos, prototypes, and presentations for prospects, customers, trade shows, and webinars. - Articulate business value and platform capabilities to audiences ranging from end users to executives. - Respond to RFPs and RFIs covering product, technical, and security topics. - Advise on integration and data migration approaches to move enterprise deals forward. - Manage multiple concurrent customer engagements while meeting quarterly and annual objectives. - Maintain and grow expertise through product, sales, and technology certifications.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of business intelligence experience. - Strong customer relationship and communication skills. - Solid understanding of database concepts and cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery. - Hands-on ETL experience with tools like Fivetran, Matillion, or traditional ETL pipelines. - Track record of implementing production BI solutions or proof of concepts. - Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent technical and business experience. - Comfort multitasking in a fast-paced startup setting; willingness to travel approximately 25%.
Nice to have
- Experience at a SaaS company or with cloud architectures. - Familiarity with common data analytics business use cases. - Prior startup experience.
