About this role
Role overview
A scale-up building an observability platform for onboard operational technology is hiring a Technical Program Manager to sit within Engineering Operations. The role bridges program leadership and core engineering teams, translating high-level priorities into well-sequenced plans across hardware, software, firmware, platform, and systems work. The mission is to keep complex defense and commercial fleet programs running predictably, supporting deployment, adoption, and ongoing fleet health.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate execution across hardware, software, firmware, platform, and systems engineering teams, turning program priorities and milestones into actionable engineering plans. - Track dependencies, risks, and resource constraints using Jira, Confluence, and custom dashboards, escalating issues early to protect delivery commitments. - Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions, status reviews, and alignment meetings with engineering managers, technical leads, and program leadership to clarify timelines, sequencing, and ownership. - Triage incoming requests from customers, internal users, and field teams, balancing responsiveness against engineering capacity and strategic priorities. - Partner with Engineering and Operations to improve internal products, tooling, capacity planning, and reporting workflows through structured feedback loops. - Work onsite alongside technical and customer-facing teams as needed to support deployment, implementation, adoption, and ongoing operations.
Requirements
- Four or more years in technical program coordination, engineering operations, or project/program management within cross-functional technical environments. - Demonstrated skill in milestone tracking, dependency management, risk mitigation, capacity planning, and cross-team facilitation. - Proven ability to translate customer and program needs into technical plans, communicate engineering constraints clearly, and drive alignment without direct authority. - Hands-on proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and other modern program planning, reporting, and collaboration tools. - Strong organization and comfort navigating ambiguity, with empathy for end-users that translates into better engineering decisions.
Nice to have
- Background working with integrated hardware and software systems, aerospace, defense, or other highly complex technical environments. - Experience delivering software or hardware in support of U.S. Government-funded programs. - Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
