Senior Full Stack Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior full-stack engineering position is open for a polyglot builder who treats frameworks as interchangeable tools rather than identities. The role spans web, mobile, and backend systems supporting a high-visibility consumer marketplace, with strong expectations around AI-assisted development and spec-driven delivery. The ideal candidate operates with high agency in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and ship product features across the full stack, including web frontends, mobile experiences, and backend services. - Move fluently between frontend frameworks such as Next.js and SvelteKit alongside lightweight backend frameworks like Hono depending on the problem at hand. - Model data, design schemas, and optimize queries in Postgres as the primary system of record. - Write TypeScript end-to-end (React or Svelte on the client, Node-based services on the server) and contribute Python services where useful. - Author technical specifications covering APIs, data models, and UI behavior before implementation begins. - Integrate AI coding assistants into daily workflows to raise velocity and code quality, participate in code reviews, and help evolve developer tooling and documentation.
Requirements - Five or more years of professional software engineering experience spanning both frontend and backend systems. - Strong, primary proficiency in TypeScript and demonstrated fluency moving between multiple frontend frameworks. - Hands-on experience with Postgres including indexing, query optimization, and schema design. - Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues. - Daily use of AI coding assistants, with workflows that meaningfully increase personal throughput. - A spec-driven working style that defines what is being built with precision before any code is written. - Self-directed, curious, and comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-changing technical contexts.
Nice to have - Experience with Expo or React Native for mobile. - Background with GraphQL, serverless architectures, or ClickHouse for analytics workloads. - Prior work in real estate, marketplaces, or other consumer-facing products. - Contributions to internal tooling or developer productivity initiatives. - Hands-on experience with frontier large language models beyond surface-level prompting.
Benefits and work setup - Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this role. - The organization maintains a workplace free from discrimination and harassment and evaluates hiring decisions on the basis of qualifications alone.
