Senior Frontend Engineer

Role overview Shape the customer-facing web experience for a consumer health brand built around microbiome science. This senior role leads the end-to-end frontend implementation of new features on a React/Next.js platform, partnering closely with Design and Product from concept through launch. The position also contributes reusable components to a shared design system and raises engineering quality through review, pairing, and mentoring.

Responsibilities

- Lead frontend implementation of new features, taking designs from Figma through production deployment - Translate visual designs into responsive, performant code with careful attention to spacing, typography, and motion - Own frontend architecture decisions: state management, data fetching, rendering performance, and test coverage - Build accessible interfaces that perform reliably across browsers and devices - Ship behind feature flags with clear rollback paths, instrumentation, and A/B testing - Develop composable React components and design-tokenized variants for the shared library, with Storybook documentation - Conduct code reviews focused on component design, accessibility, and visual fidelity, and mentor teammates through pairing

Requirements

- 6+ years of professional frontend engineering experience with a portfolio or GitHub demonstrating UI craft - Expert-level React and Next.js with TypeScript - Strong grasp of design systems, design tokens, and component API design - Solid fundamentals in state management, data fetching, and rendering performance - Demonstrated track record shipping production frontend features on schedule - Daily collaboration experience with designers and product managers
