About this role
Role overview Design and operate enterprise virtual desktop and application delivery environments, providing senior technical support for virtual systems. The role leads architecture and engineering work across Citrix virtual apps and desktops, application load balancing, and virtualization platforms, while aligning endpoint solutions with wider infrastructure plans.
Responsibilities - Design, deploy, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot hosted Windows desktops, applications, and load balancing services. - Provide Tier 3 operational support and respond to infrastructure incidents affecting business operations. - Administer virtualization platforms, including Nutanix and VMware, and support related storage, networking, and data protection services. - Work with application teams and vendors to define load balancing needs and provision desktop images and applications. - Track work through ticketing and change control; document the production environment and its architecture. - Guide technical decisions and explain designs, implementations, and roadmaps to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Requirements - Associate degree in a technical field; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. - At least 10 years of hands-on enterprise virtualization engineering and support experience, including hosted desktops or server virtualization. - At least 10 years of direct experience with Citrix-based solutions and a required Citrix CCA-V certification or equivalent stated minimum. - At least 7 years designing and maintaining systems in secure environments subject to U.S. healthcare regulations, and 7 years supporting enterprise virtualization, storage, data protection, and networking. - Strong experience with Citrix architecture, ADC/load balancing, virtual desktops, Windows Server, Active Directory, group policy, DNS, and networking. - Advanced systems administration and automation skills, with clear communication, collaboration, and training abilities.
Nice to have - Higher-level Citrix certifications, such as CCP-V or CCE-V, and certifications in Windows Server, cloud, Microsoft 365, VMware, or Cisco. - Experience monitoring and tuning virtualization and storage performance; familiarity with Nutanix enterprise cloud platforms.
