Job details
About this role
Role overview Join an AI-driven platform that converts images and text into production-ready 3D models, serving a global community of more than two million creators, game developers, and 3D printing enthusiasts. The team is now expanding into business workflows and needs a Product Engineer who enjoys shipping polished, end-to-end experiences alongside the founder.
Responsibilities - Own product features from idea through release, shaping both the user experience and the underlying implementation without waiting for a detailed spec. - Build refined, well-designed interfaces using Next.js, accounting for roughly 60% of the role. - Implement and maintain backend services in Django and PostgreSQL, including integration with third-party AI model APIs (roughly 40% of the role). - Care for production servers and keep the platform reliable as user data volumes grow. - Use AI-assisted coding tools daily to move quickly while protecting quality. - Learn the 3D side of the product, including model formats and pipelines, and contribute to expansion into business customers.
Requirements - 5+ years of full-stack experience building web products across both frontend and backend. - Strong proficiency in Next.js on the frontend and Django with PostgreSQL on the backend. - Hands-on experience managing servers and working in Linux environments. - A sharp eye for product quality, with care for clean UX/UI details such as animations, shadows, and overall polish. - A track record of shipping products to real users, ideally in a startup, founder, or side-project context, with comfort driving work independently. - Active use of AI tools to boost personal productivity and quality, with curiosity about emerging capabilities.
Nice to have - Familiarity with 3D models, meshes, formats, or Blender (including headless pipeline usage). - Experience scaling a product. - Exposure to serverless GPU platforms such as Modal. - Experience with Neon, Celery, or third-party AI model APIs.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote with freedom to work from anywhere and at the times that suit you. - High-trust team culture with significant autonomy and minimal bureaucracy. - Small, collaborative team environment with support for cross-skill learning.
