Job details
About this role
Role overview Establish and expand automated quality practices for a large, distributed cloud platform. This role works across compute, serverless services, batch workloads, storage, billing, APIs, and event-driven services to test reliability, performance, and scalability before changes reach production. It also helps shape the testing strategy and standards as the quality function grows.
Responsibilities - Build and maintain automated test frameworks for distributed services and complex microservice architectures. - Design load, performance, and stress tests to measure behavior under heavy traffic. - Develop fault-injection and chaos testing approaches to assess resilience and recovery. - Create API, integration, end-to-end, and system tests, and connect continuous testing to CI/CD workflows. - Work with engineering, SRE, and infrastructure teams to include quality practices throughout development. - Analyze logs, telemetry, and observability data to spot failure risks; automate security, contract, and infrastructure testing; assist with production incidents through on-call rotations.
Requirements - At least ten years of experience in QA automation, software development engineering in test, software engineering, or a related technical field. - Strong programming skills in at least one language, preferably Python, Go, or TypeScript. - Hands-on experience building automation for distributed systems and microservices, with a focus on reliability, performance, and scale. - Deep understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment practices. - Experience with load-testing tools, observability platforms, Kubernetes, and containerized applications. - Knowledge of chaos testing, fault injection, distributed tracing, and event-driven systems using queues and databases. - Successful completion of a background check.
Nice to have A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; multi-region cloud experience; familiarity with security testing and compliance; or experience managing GPU and AI compute fleets.
