About this role
Role overview A regional technology leadership role centered on external engagement rather than internal IT operations. The position serves as a customer-facing advisor and public-facing thought leader, partnering closely with sales, product management, marketing, and professional services to build executive credibility, generate market awareness, and surface new business opportunities across the North America West region. This is a remote role based in the Pacific or Mountain time zone, and it does not involve direct team management or project execution.
Responsibilities - Advise regional customers and prospects on enterprise architecture, strategic road mapping, and best practices for large-scale ERP environments. - Lead technical discussions covering Oracle and SAP ERP systems, cloud infrastructure, databases, Java, data integration, and deployment models. - Partner with sales and account management teams to address technical objections, deepen executive trust, and identify expansion opportunities. - Serve as the regional public spokesperson at industry events, conferences, roundtables, boardroom sessions, and social gatherings. - Collaborate with marketing to produce webinars, articles, white papers, media interviews, and other educational content that drives awareness and interest.
Requirements - 10+ years of deep technical expertise advising C-level executives on enterprise architecture and ERP road mapping. - In-depth knowledge of ERP platforms such as Oracle E-Business Suite, SAP ECC, and S/4HANA, including implementation, deployment, and module functionality. - Familiarity with both on-premise and cloud deployment models, including IaaS and SaaS strategies, plus cybersecurity concepts for ERP workloads. - Proficiency across Java, operating systems, storage, cloud technologies, data migration, and integration. - 5+ years of public speaking, media engagement, and thought leadership content creation, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences. - Established relationships with CIO-level executives in the region and willingness to travel regionally and internationally as needed.
Nice to have - 5+ years in a prior CIO or comparable senior technology leadership role. - Experience negotiating directly with ERP vendors. - Strong communication skills in both the local regional language and English.
