Role overview

The User Researcher II plans and delivers research that helps product teams understand user needs, improve usability, and make better product decisions. The work combines qualitative and quantitative methods, from interviews and usability studies to surveys and behavioral analysis, with findings translated into clear recommendations for design, product, and engineering partners.

Responsibilities

- Plan and conduct end-to-end research studies with appropriate qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method approaches. - Lead interviews, contextual inquiry, observation, usability testing, surveys, card sorting, and related evaluative research. - Analyze research sessions, user behavior metrics, and usability benchmarks to identify needs and product opportunities. - Synthesize evidence into concise insights, compelling narratives, and actionable recommendations for cross-functional teams. - Support participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, research documentation, and repository upkeep. - Help improve research methods and contribute to experimentation, including A/B testing initiatives.

Requirements

- Degree in human-computer interaction, anthropology, social science, design research, psychology, cognitive science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - Approximately 3–5 years of UX research experience or a comparable combination of education and experience. - Proficiency with qualitative methods such as interviews, contextual inquiry, and observational research. - Working knowledge of survey design, basic statistical analysis, and mixed-methods research. - Experience with usability testing, heuristic evaluation, research protocols, and discussion guides. - Experience recruiting and screening participants, applying informed-consent practices, and researching diverse user groups.
