Role overview
Lead product design for financial experiences including payments, billing, spend management, insights, and card products. You will guide complex initiatives from early product vision and discovery through concepts, prototypes, and build-ready designs, turning complicated financial workflows into simple and useful experiences. The role has broad strategic influence and requires close partnership with product, engineering, data, design, and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Define design direction for initiatives with significant scope, beginning with the desired product future and translating it into an actionable path. - Partner across product, engineering, and data to identify real user needs and deliver solutions with measurable product impact. - Simplify complex financial concepts and workflows into clear, coherent user journeys. - Lead design reviews, establish effective feedback and decision-making practices, and raise the quality bar across the design organization. - Build alignment with stakeholders while advocating for strong user outcomes, product clarity, and high-quality execution. - Mentor and challenge fellow designers, contributing to stronger craft, communication, and design strategy.
Requirements
- At least eight years of product design experience spanning the full 0-to-1 development process, from planning and discovery through prototypes and implementation-ready designs. - Extensive fintech product experience, particularly in areas such as spend management, card issuing, bill payment, or financial insights. - Strong foundations in user experience design and demonstrated success creating new products. - High-quality visual, interaction, and UX craft, with an emphasis on simplicity, usefulness, and an engaging experience. - Proven ability to manage stakeholders across product, engineering, data, and executive teams. - Strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to explain the reasoning behind design decisions.
Nice to have
- Experience shaping design strategy at an organizational level. - Proficiency with modern design tools, design systems, and emerging AI-assisted design or development tools. - A portfolio demonstrating relevant product work; include access credentials when the portfolio is password protected.
