Job details
About this role
Role overview Build, deploy, and operate infrastructure for partner organizations running secure software in government, private-cloud, and on-premises environments. The role spans onboarding, Kubernetes operations, infrastructure automation, secure releases, observability, and production support. Senior engineers deliver complex deployments independently; staff engineers also set architecture and shared standards across engagements and mentor others.
Responsibilities - Prepare and operate partner environments across major cloud providers and customer-managed infrastructure, accounting for access, network, and security constraints. - Package and validate services with containers, Kubernetes, and Helm; maintain versioned image inventories and release records. - Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code, cluster setup automation, and CI/CD or GitOps workflows. - Configure and validate networking, identity, secrets, certificates, storage, registries, and model connectivity, including restricted or disconnected deployments where needed. - Test representative application and agent workflows end to end, and remove deployment dependencies that block partner environments. - Troubleshoot deployment and production incidents across applications, clusters, cloud resources, and networks; coordinate fixes and confirm resolution. - Establish operational handoffs, reliability practices, secure release standards, and reusable improvements; document decisions and mentor engineers.
Requirements - U.S. citizenship and 10 or more years in software, platform, infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps engineering, including production ownership. - Strong hands-on Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and production cluster operations experience. - Experience with Helm and infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Pulumi, including reusable modules and change review. - Infrastructure experience in at least two of AWS, Azure, and GCP, covering areas such as compute, networking, storage, and identity. - Experience deploying software to customer-controlled, hybrid, private-cloud, or on-premises environments. - Working knowledge of networking, DNS, ingress, certificates, IAM, secrets, persistent storage, CI/CD, observability, and incident response. - Automation or software engineering ability in Python, Go, TypeScript, or a similar language.
Benefits and work setup Benefits listed include employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, 14 weeks of paid parental leave, unlimited time off with management approval, professional development, and optional retirement, flexible spending, and equity programs.
