Platform Engineer

Role overview Operate and improve production infrastructure for services that depend on reliable, secure cloud systems. The work spans Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, deployments, observability, security controls, and incident response, with responsibility for carrying out defined projects independently and reviewing infrastructure changes. Core working hours overlap with the EU business day.

Responsibilities - Run and maintain production Kubernetes clusters, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability. - Build and update infrastructure as code, environments, secrets, and configuration using Pulumi, TypeScript, and Python. - Maintain GitOps deployments and CI/CD pipelines, including investigating race conditions. - Operate cloud services such as identity and access management, messaging, databases, networking, and secret storage; tune message subscriptions and alerts. - Manage edge services and DNS as code, and clean up temporary preview environments. - Handle production incidents through triage, escalation, runbooks, and follow-up; review infrastructure changes and maintain dashboards and alerts.

Requirements - Production experience operating Kubernetes on GKE and hands-on Pulumi experience, including Pulumi ESC. - Practical proficiency with TypeScript and Python, plus the ability to read Go. - Experience with ArgoCD, GitOps, CI/CD, and diagnosing pipeline issues. - Strong working knowledge of GCP services, including IAM, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, VPC, and Secret Manager. - Experience managing Cloudflare Workers and DNS as code, and maintaining secrets and configuration across services. - Ability to handle incidents and infrastructure work independently, review pull requests, and work with Grafana monitoring and security or compliance tasks such as SOC 2.
